Join us at our Durham Pop-up, ‘Two Tales’, as we embark on a page-turning journey of imagination and experience a truly unique way of learning. Explore our nationally recognised Collection of children’s literature through inspiring workshops and gallery space to handle original work from our archive.

Each of our workshops are dedicated to inspiring imagination, creativity and of course a love of reading – head to the links below to discover unique workshop opportunities for your school. Our Two Tales workshops run from Tuesday-Friday and there is the option of either a morning or afternoon session.

Adventure by Book

Featuring 'The Gnome Book' by Loes Riphagen and 'Otto The Book Bear' by Katie Cleminson

Have you ever thought about your favourite storybook characters coming to life? 'Adventure by Book' is an interactive, immersive literacy experience expertly designed to encourage children to foster a love of reading through drama, discussion and hands-on activities. Children will use movement, drama and role-play to bring the stories to life, encouraging them to create their own imaginative narrative before settling down to craft their very own original miniature book.

Inspired by Mary Norton's 'The Borrowers'

Looking for a unique and immersive way to enhance your students' literacy, creativity and engagement with classic literature? Then this is the perfect workshop for your class! Experience 'The Borrowers' through a dynamic blend of drama, storytelling and interactive learning, inspired by Mary Norton's beloved novel. This hands-on, inquiry-based session aligns with OFSTED's emphasis on broad balanced, and engaging curricula, fostering a love of reading and creative expression through drama and discussion. Your students will explore the themes and characters of 'The Borrowers' in a fun and memorable way, deepening their understanding of storytelling and narrative structures.
