Seven Stories works to support authors and illustrators across the country. Be it through our free Writers Salon, book launches, signings and events - there is always room at 30 Lime Street for fellow creatives to join us and celebrate the power of storytelling.
Thanks to the perfect venue for hosting our Never Stop Drawing book launch. To Wendy Elliott & the team at Seven Stories, The National Centre for Children’s Books, we couldn’t have asked for more. Welcome to the Writers Salon where we host events for writers and budding writers from the North East to network, socialise, learn and share experiences. Our events take place quarterly, for free, and are advertised in our What’s On page.
The Writers Salon is a vibrant community that originated as an informal gathering for writers and illustrators at various stages of their careers. Whether you’re dipping your toes in the world of writing or seeking guidance on publishing and marketing – be it through self-publishing or traditional routes – the Writers Salon is the inclusive space you’ve been searching for.
Founded by Seven Stories, our mission is to cultivate a safe and supportive environment for individuals passionate about writing and illustrating, with a specific focus on creating captivating books for children. Since its inception, the Writers Salon has evolved into a thriving hub where aspiring writers have transformed into accomplished authors.
Our salon operates on the principles of collaboration and community, offering free attendance to all participants. Run cooperatively by the writers themselves, we are currently engaged in the exciting project of crafting the Big Northern Book of Bedtime Tales.
