Shakespeare Summer Club 2024

All The World’s A Stage – Macbeth

A spooky story of witchy prophecies, ambition and guilt…prepare to be thrilled!

The Shakespeare Summer Club returns to Seven Stories for its second year with the classic tragedy Macbeth.

Following a ‘play in a week’ format, with session taking place on weekdays from 10am-4pm, participants will explore elements of theatre including writing, set and costume design and directing. Participants will develop confidence and a love of stories alongside building supportive relationships within a safe and supportive environment as they work (and play!) towards an informal production for the family and friends on Friday 3pm in our magical Attic space.

Through an accessible exploration of vivid imagery and poetic language in Shakespeare’s work, our creative team will empower children and young people to vocalise their thoughts confidently, reflect critically and engage creatively.

Parent of a participant from Seven Stories Shakespeare Summer School 2023:

“This week, my daughter is at a summer school, all based around Shakespeare and literature. Why? Because she is a book worm, loves writing short stories and this is right her street. I have watched her self-esteem sky rocket each week, her confidence has grown, all because she is happy! Her happiness shows thr true success of the brilliant team at Seven Stories, The National Centre for Children’s Books. Can’t wait for show day tomorrow!”
