Here at Seven Stories, we strongly believe that storytelling and stories have the transformative ability to connect children to the world around them, allowing them to develop new language, vocabulary and confidence, leading to a better understanding across the wider curriculum.
We also believe that our storytelling workshops can help educators gain the necessary skill set needed to deliver inspiring storytimes and to grow a culture of reading for pleasure within their setting.
Our years of experience working with diverse audiences to deliver inspiring storytimes and our child centred approach is the key to our success. Here at Seven Stories we are dedicated to sharing our knowledge and experience through our unique and practical approach to storytelling. Our CPD workshops will help you gain new skills to increase creativity, build confidence and support readers of all abilities.
Storyteller’s Apprentice
In this storytelling workshop we will guide you through our unique approach to Storytelling, helping you to gain the skills you need to tell compelling and engaging stories. Our workshop will also help deepen your understanding of storytelling, with a focus on developing the process of choosing a good book and how to use hooks into stories. We will also focus on how to engage young readers with a range of fun and practical approaches, giving you the confidence to build your own individual storytelling style.
2hr workshop – Suitable for every level of educator wishing to gain new skills and confidence in storytelling. Covers EYFS and both key stages 1 & 2.

Storytelling Scholar
In this expanded storytelling workshop we will explore more in depth methods of storytelling, hooks into stories and how to make good book choices. The Storytelling Scholar workshop will help develop your knowledge on the use of non-fiction texts and poetry, enabling you to introduce storytelling across the curriculum.
By enhancing your understanding of how to use different texts, like non-fiction and poetry, you will open new and exciting avenues of learning that will empower your students to ask questions of the world around them, express themselves through written word and to be inspired to pick up a book. Our workshop will support you to develop the confidence to use your storytelling skills to bring stories to life and grow a culture of reading for pleasure in your setting.
4hr workshop – Suitable for every level of educator wishing to gain new skills and confidence in storytelling. Covers EYFS and both key stages 1 & 2.

Storytelling Engineer
In this full day workshop you will be fully immersed in all aspects of how to bring stories to life. Starting with an introduction to our unique and practical approach to storytelling, we will explore how to use your voice, how movement can enhance the storytelling experience and how to introduce performance into the classroom. You will then use these new found skills to design your very own story time experience.
The aim of the Storytelling Engineer workshop is to give you the skills and confidence to not only deliver an inspiring story time but to support and encourage your students to deliver their own stories. We will also look at the use of non fiction and poetry and how to use these in storytelling, we also explore how to choose a good book and how to hook young readers in.
6.5 hr workshop – Suitable for every level of educator wishing to gain new skills and confidence in storytelling. Covers EYFS and both key stages 1 & 2.
